    Compare the Ninja Foodi range of multicookers cooking functions - Air Fry, Bake, Pressure Cook, Sear/Sauté, Slow Cook, Steam, Grill, Yogurt, Dehydrate, Steam Air Fry, Steam Bake, Prove, Steam Meals, Steam Bread, Steam Roast, Probe & Keep Warm The Ninja Foodi The Ninja Foodi range of multicookers (see bottom of page) offers a variety of cooking functions all in 1 pot... Air Fry, Bake, Pressure Cook, Sear/Sauté, Slow Cook, Steam, Grill, Yogurt, Dehydrate, Steam Air Fry, Steam Bake, Prove, Steam Meals, Steam Bread, Steam Roast, Probe & Keep Warm. My cook book , "99 Ninja Foodi Recipes" includes recipes for all these functions but you can also adapt many of them if your particular Ninja Foodi model doesn't have offer all. My YouTube videos also explain how to use all these functions. The comparison chart below shows the different functions/features that each Ninja Foodi Multicooker offers. Ninja Foodi Comparison Table AIR FRY Ninja say that the 'Air Fry' function means up to 75% less fat than traditional frying methods (when tested against deep fried, hand-cut French fries). The heating element near the top of the fryer emits heat into the air in the cooking chamber (radiation), while a fan circulates the heated air rapidly around it (convection). This combination creates a very intense heat transfer, resulting in a cooking method that's closer to frying than baking. It's much healthier than using a deep-fryer, but with little or no oil you can create crispy browned food faster than oven baking. BAKE The 'Bake' function is similar to baking in a fan oven (convection) but often the food can appear cooked on the outside but be raw in the middle. I suggest generally decreasing the temperature by 20 degrees compared to the standard oven temperature. This cooking process cooks from the outside in. You also need to consider the material of your cooking dish when you decide on the bake time. A metal conducts heat whilst a silicone liner is heat resistant. PRESSURE COOK The 'Pressure Cook' function cooks food with the use of high pressured steam using a minimum of 250ml of liquid. It allows food to be cooked much faster by trapping the steam and increasing the boiling point so that tough meat becomes tender very quickly. Ninja say it’s up to 70% faster than traditional cooking methods. SEAR / SAUTÉ The 'Sear/Sauté' function is the same as cooking in a saucepan on the hob, but you have a very big pot! Great for sautéing vegetables and you can control the temperature. I even used this function to melt ingredients to make Kinder Rice Crispy Cakes ! SLOW COOK The 'Slow Cook' function is a convenient way of creating meals with a cook time up to 12 hours. This ensures your favourite risotto, casserole or tender pulled pork is ready when you get home and will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' once cooked. STEAM The 'Steam' function can be used to re-heat food (in a pot covered in foil) with water in the bottom of the ninja pot. It retains the moisture in the food so is an ideal use for this function. When using 'Steam' the Ninja allows steam to escape unlike pressure cooking, making it ideal for more delicate food like fish, vegetables and even rice. GRILL The 'Grill' function is a powerful cooking option using high intense heat, perfect for crisping up fat on lamb chops or melting and bubbling cheese on a pasta dish. It’s the hottest option on the Ninja, so it works well for pre-heating when needed. YOGURT Making yogurt is incredibly simple using the Ninja Foodi 'Yogurt' function with only 2 ingredients needed. It’s a lengthy process due to the fermentation but you can walk away and let the Ninja do the work for you. Making your own homemade Yogurt from scratch is ultra satisfying and also very cost effective. DEHYDRATE Use the 'Dehydrate' function to create vegetable crisps, dried fruit snacks, homemade jerky and dried herbs. You can even cook a joint of beef for a pink soft interior with a browned outside crust. STEAM AIR FRY The 'Steam Air Fry' function creates steam-infused air which cooks your food without drying it out. Enjoy healthier fried food that’s moist and juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. It’s also perfect for quickly cooking a risotto or a one-pot lasagne with a bubbling cheese topping. STEAM BAKE The 'Steam Bake' function creates the most fluffy, moist and light cakes. The steam circulates around your food and can offer protection like a water bath. Delicate custard recipes bake well using this method. PROVE The 'Prove' function is used to prepare your dough for being cooked under steam, by warming it at a low temperature to increase its size. STEAM MEALS The 'Steam Meals' function makes family meals in under 30 minutes, layering mains and sides with the 2-tier rack to create complete, delicious one-pot meals. Try a classic Sausage & Mash with Veg, Stuffed Chicken with Pasta or Salmon, Rice with tender vegetables. STEAM BREAD The 'Steam Bread' function gives several benefits including good crust coloration and shine, and a thinner crispier crust. The steam keeps the crust moist preventing it from solidifying too soon and thus helping the bread expand more. STEAM ROAST The 'Steam Roast' function is great for cooking large joints of meat and whole chickens. It keeps the flesh tender but produces a crisp exterior. PROBE The leave-in cooking 'Probe' is a digital meat thermometer which allows you to cook to temperature rather than time. It monitors the temperature of your food as it cooks so you can enjoy food cooked precisely to your taste without the guesswork. It is neatly stored away when not in use on the side of the foodi. KEEP WARM The 'Keep Warm' function automatically switches on after pressure cooking, steaming and slow-cooking, retaining a safe food temperature for up to 12 hours. You can switch this on manually after using other functions by selecting 'slow cook' then using the 'buffet' setting.   • BLOG - MAY 2025

    How has May been for you ? It's been a bit wetter here in the UK, but the garden has really needed it after a very dry April. I'm loving my Herb Garden instead of buying herbs from the supermarkets, although my Basil did die, sadly. Michael was away on a golf trip in Turkey at the start of the month and mid-May he went to Bilbao to watch his football team, Spurs, win the Europa League Cup Final - which gave me a great chance to complete the video editing of all the recipes in my upcoming cook book; " 4 SEASONS NINJA FOODI RECIPES ". Once the cooking videos are edited and produced, I can create the QR codes which most of you seem to love from my previous books. There's so much time that goes into producing a recipe book from the 1st idea to actually receiving the 1st book in my hands. I created the 1st recipe for "4 SEASONS" back in January and we should receive a sample book during the 2nd week of June for final proofing. All being well, we'll receive the bulk delivery by the end of July and will start shipping out your books in order number priority from Week Commencing 28th July as planned 🤞🏼 NOTE: The reduced Pre-Order price of £23.99 will finish at the end of June , so please order before then if you want to save yourself £5. Henry finished his "normal" school days and started his GCSE exams at the start of May. He's sat 17 exams so far and has a further 11 over the next 2 weeks after half term has finished. He's fairly relaxed about them, so we're just hoping he gets what he needs to be able to stay on at Sixth Form in his current school, as they have quite high minimum entry requirements. It's tough for them, but we believe it sets them up for life which can be even more brutal. Whilst producing the upcoming book, I've been trying hard to reply to all your comments, questions and requests for advice on my various platforms such as YouTube , Facebook , Instagram , my website , etc. I hope you don't feel you've been neglected but what started as a little hobby now takes up all my time, just like a full time job - which will make our next holiday abroad all the more enjoyable... more on that in July ! Some of you may have already seen on my social media pages that I went to a "Bake-Off" style event in London recently with my best friend Clare, her parents & sister. It was great fun and we only went and won it! There were 12 pairs challenged to bake a cake within 90 minutes with a "Tutti Frutti" theme. All the equipment and ingredients were provided in a "Bake-Off" style tent and we really felt as though we were on the actual TV show! We felt so under-pressure with the time-constraints but if you want a great day out with friends/family and to test your baking skills, I highly recommend it - here's a link to their website . I added 18 printable recipes in May, and my Lemon Yoghurt Chicken was the most popular YouTube video recipe. There'll be lots more yummy recipes for your Ninja Foodis coming in June on my YouTube  channel and printable recipes  on my website for those who have the SK1 or SK2 subscription . Finally, a bit of a sad note - Michael & my son, Henry along with a 75 year old family friend, John, are doing a SkyDive/Parachute Jump in aid of Farleigh Hospice on Saturday 21st June - John's wife Linda sadly passed away after battling Oesophagus Cancer last year and Michael's father is going through the same currently. He had a successful operation to remove the cancer last year, but unfortunately it has returned in the last few months and there's no more the hospital can do. He's currently receiving care from Farleigh Hospice at home, so we are trying to raise as much funds as possible for Farleigh Hospice to keep providing families in the same situation with this amazing end-of-life service.
